About CTPP
CT Pet Projects is a volunteer network and resource portal for those who are involved or would like to become involved in companion animal welfare initiatives. The mission of CT Pet Projects is to connect skilled volunteers with animal welfare organizations who are looking for help. Whether you're a compassionate and humane individual looking to volunteer or an animal welfare organization looking for volunteers, you can make the connection at CTPetProjects.org.
There are endless volunteer opportunities that require a wide variety of skills and knowledge. You can help an animal welfare organization with:
Shelter or habitat repair and indoor/outdoor clean-up
Pet food and supply drives
Pet socializing and exercising
Bathing and grooming
Homeless pet publicity
Transport and foster care
Technical support - databases, web sites, etc.
Letter writing, envelope stuffing, phone calls
Photography
Fundraising
Special event organization and participation
This is just a sampling of the types of projects to which CTPP Pet Squad members can contribute. Click here for a schedule of our current projects.
Who Is CT Pet Projects?
We, Joelle and Liz, founded CTPP in February, 2006 when we began as companion animal volunteers ourselves. We are long-time pet enthusiasts who wanted to make a difference in the lives of homeless pets but struggled with how to go about it. We began to apply and visit shelters in nearby cities but were never quite sure where our help was needed most.
While we were willing to roll up our sleeves (and our pant legs if necessary!) and run around with animals, clean kennels, scrub floors... we also wanted to put our professional skills to work on behalf of the beautiful animals with whom we instantly bonded with each shelter visit.
We designed CTPP and CTPetProjects.org to act as a portal to animal welfare in CT and an easy way for our fellow volunteers to discover where they can get involved and how they can have the greatest impact.
Please contact us with any inquries or comments you might have. We look forward to working with you!
